AGENTS instructions

Standing boundaries stay active; stage procedures load when needed.

Template 2.1.0

What the root instruction owns

AGENTS.md defines project orientation, knowledge retrieval, language, approval and execution decisions, preservation of existing work, reporting, and delivery and cleanup authorization. Host entry files make these instructions available to supported coding hosts.

The agent uses the workspace's pinned CLI for deterministic bookkeeping. It does not infer product decisions from fields or tool success.

Repository conventions still apply

A prepared worktree is a repository checkout. Its own instructions govern local conventions, setup, checks, and commit format. They cannot authorize a push, deployment, or deletion the person has not requested.

Instructions are not proof

A file being present does not establish that a host loaded or followed it. Report host behavior as unverified unless exercised. Product checks establish deterministic mechanics; they cannot prove every conversation follows the instructions.
